Job Details:
Maintain common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial or institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Maintenance:
-Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in all common areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
-Ensure that lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and other high-traffic areas are clean and presentable.
Trash and Recycling:
-Empty trash cans and recycling bins in common areas and ensure proper disposal according to building policies.
-Monitor and manage waste collection areas, ensuring that they are organized and compliant with local regulations.
General Building Maintenance:
-Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or tightening loose fixtures.
-Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facility Manager or Building Superintendent.
Supply Management:
-Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom consumables.
-Assist in tracking inventory levels and informing management when supplies need to be ordered.
Support Services:
-Assist with the setup and breakdown of events or meetings in common areas, including moving furniture or equipment.
-Assist in building occupants as needed, including helping with deliveries or other tasks.
Safety and Security:
-Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including properly using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
-Monitor the premises for security issues, such as unlocked doors or suspicious activity, and report any concerns to management
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or maintenance roles is preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with tenants and coworkers.
Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and the ability to use standard tools and equipment.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
