Small workers’ compensation law firm representing injured workers seeks paralegal/case manager to assist attorney in all phases of litigation, including drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and conducting legal research. Spanish language skills preferred, but not mandatory.
- Assist attorney in client intake and screening.
- Research and prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Coordinate and manage document production, including reviewing and organizing discovery materials.
- Maintain case calendars and track deadlines.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing and exhibits.
- Conduct factual investigations and gather evidence to support legal arguments.
- Utilize A-1 document management system to organize and maintain electronic files.
- Conduct legal research using Lexis databases.
Requirements:
- Certification in Paralegal Studies required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers’ compensation preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices, including Jet-filing, EAMS and Filenet.
Must be kind and empathetic with clients, be well organized, fast worker, and reliable.
Hourly pay rate range from $25 - $30 DOE.
