As a Pre-Press Graphic Artist, you will have an eye for detail, which is essential for any production artist, as well as an eye for aesthetics. You will be preparing customer art for digital and flexographic print. Daily use of Adobe Creative Suite in order to create and edit such graphics as well as assist our Digital Production team in color correcting files. Review and proof graphic materials before the projects are released to production. Follow a product workflow and timeline to ensure projects progress in a timely manner. Although the nature of the job is not to design, such opportunities may come occasionally.
While your main responsibility will not be customer service, you will need to communicate comfortably and effectively with clients regarding their art and their open orders.
This is a Full-Time position beginning Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with Overtime opportunities based on company needs.
Qualifications
This is NOT a creative graphic design position
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat software
Ability to work on a Mac OS
Detail-oriented, organized with a strong ability to follow tasks through to completion
Excellent time management skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
Able to work on multiple tasks/assignments simultaniously
Excellent communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Solid work ethic with a positive attitude and a team player
Bilingual in English and Spanish prefered but not required
Responsibilities
Pre-Press Graphic Artists are responsible for applying all files to established templates to ensure correct layout and correct die-cut measurements
Pre-flighting design files, prepare color match targets
Prioritizing time-sensitive orders, reviewing and resolving problem orders in a timely manner, exceeding customer expectations through accuracy, efficiency, courtesy, and knowledge
Converting and preparing files received in various digital formats to different outputs for print production Layout projects efficiently and effectively
Creating layouts and proofs for production or the client when needed to better illustrate how files will print and for the client to proof for errors and potential print problems
Offer graphic design ideas, solutions and alternatives based on customer input
Color correct and make similar recommendations or adjustments to print files per project requirements
