Schedule: Monday - Friday 1st shift 5:30am-2:30pm (overtime as required)
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
A leading aerospace subcontractor specializing in precision-machined structural aircraft components and assemblies for commercial and defense customers worldwide, is seeking skilled Sheetmetal Mechanics for a temp to hire opportunity.
Position Summary: Under close supervision, you will operate various tools/equipment to produce quality parts or metal sheets efficiently, meeting customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow sketches, blueprints, verbal, and written instructions, to accomplish work assignments.
Work with sheet metal using hand tools to buff, grind, trim, form, and smooth out rough edges, preparing sheets for
painting or molding.
Utilize precision measuring instruments, hand, and power tools, and operate basic shop machines.
Notify supervision of faulty equipment and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Make calculations and plot points on Statistical Process Control charts, interpreting data patterns.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 year of working with Sheet Metal or related experience.
Aptitude to learn setup and operation of machines, including cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch.
Knowledge of shop math and proper use of inspection tools.
Ability to read and understand written plans and follow verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force.
Capable of prolonged periods of standing and repetitive use of hands.
May involve sitting, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, grasping, pushing, or pulling.
