NPSC (Newport Professional Search Company) is looking for a CNC Shop Manager / CNC Programmer to manage a CNC shop in Huntington Beach. The shop has 5 mills, 5 lathes, 8 employees.
Hours are flexibile: 30 – 45 hours per week M-F only. No weekends.
Requirements:
1) 5 years CAD/CAM experience (shop currently uses ESpirit & Fusion 360).
2) Excellent coaching skills – teach the operators how to make perfect parts.
3) Extreme attention to detail: Most parts contain +/- .0005 tolerances.
4) Documentation experience – Write AS9100 paperwork and operator documentation.
5) Outstanding inspection skills Part of every day will be spent inspecting in-process parts. The shop manager ensures all the operators are making good parts, all of the time. In-process inspection is critical.
6) Understanding of how to create reliable fixtures for both lathes & mills.
The shop has 2 EDM machines but the business owner programs those machines. EDM experience is helpful but not required.
This is a very busy job. There are always machines to set up, parts to check, programming to be done, etc. Please do not apply if you are not comfortable in a high-stress environment.
Compensation = $35-$50 per hour (some of the hourly pay is based on company performance). Benefits include: Sick/vacation pay (2 weeks / year), 401K and job training.
