ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee must be able to perform receiving inspection in the electronic manufacturing industry utilizing standard measurement tools to verify drawing measurements, electronic component identifications and Printed Circuit board specifications such as IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, as a minimum. Basic computer skills including email, word, excel spread sheets and standard forms is required.

1. Must fully understand drawing interpretation standards and have experience using standard electronic and mechanical inspection equipment.

2. Must perform and approve detailed first article inspections of custom parts, i.e., bare PCBs, sheet metal, molded plastic parts and electronic components.

3. Must be able to effectively understand supplier quality requirements.

4. Must have experience utilizing manufacturing documentation including prints, BOM, wire lists, ECOs, method instructions, and test instructions.

5. Must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of manufacturing.

6. Must have ability to identify electronic components and research manufacturer part numbers using vendor catalogs and internet searches.

7. Must have computer skills including word and excel with the ability to utilize standard company MRP software.

Quality Inspector has the authority to release or hold product from shipment.

MUST BE A U.S. PERSON.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of 2 years receiving inspection experience in an electronics manufacturing environment including at least two years of experience in inspection of custom-made parts utilizing calipers, micrometers, gage pins, surface plate & height gage, thread gages and using basic mathematics. Must be able to read and interpret dimensional drawings and perform cosmetic and electronic component inspection including identification of part types, part number, value verification, damage inspection and quantity counts, as well as printed circuit board inspection using calipers, gage pins, surface plate.

Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

The key physical requirements for this position include the ability to use standard office equipment including PC’s, fax, and copy machine, movement within a standard office and distribution warehouse area, walking, sitting, standing, climbing, carrying, pushing/pulling and lifting 1–30 pounds occasionally. Telephone use is a must.
