Salary: $28 to $32 per hour
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Machinist to join our team.
This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machinery and
equipment to produce high-quality components and perform industrial maintenance. The
ideal candidate will have a strong background in tool and die making, the ability to reverse
engineer parts, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Machinery Operation: Operate lathes, mills, surface grinders, and other shop
equipment to fabricate and repair metal and plastic components for industrial
equipment
Blueprint Reading & Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and
blueprints to ensure accurate part specifications.
Tool Setup & Maintenance: Calibrate, set up, and maintain tools and equipment
while troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
Quality Control: Perform quality checks to verify dimensions and surface finishes
meet specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations,
maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct scheduled maintenance and
diagnose issues involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Equipment Installation & Adjustments: Install, adjust, and calibrate new equipment,
ensuring optimal functionality.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of production, quality, and maintenance while planning stock inventory and spare parts.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, co-workers, and external contractors, providing guidance on maintenance needs and assisting in on-site projects.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining manual machinery, such as lathes, mills,
and grinders.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical,
hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering
schematics.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and industrial safety standards.
Forklift and crane operation experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to SO pounds and perform repetitive tasks safely.
