We are a family owned fastener distributor in business over 75 years, who is seeking a dedicated individual for a full time position. The position offered is for a junior buyer position that will handle sourcing of product, working with our vendors to secure the highest quality product at the best price and to generate purchase orders.
We are looking for someone who is intelligent, well organized, extremely detail oriented, can take direction well, works efficiently and takes pride in their work. Fastener knowledge and experience is a huge plus but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Your Responsibilities Include:
Working with our existing vendors and sourcing new vendors.
Data entry in our ERP system in all matters relating to inventory and purchasing.
Calling and working closely with our vendors.
Inventory control
Checking inventory and following up on the status for open orders.
Ensure the company's standards for highest possible quality in all delivered goods and services are consistently achieved.
Qualifications:
2+ years of recent purchasing experience (ideal but not required).
Meticulous attention to detail and are process oriented.
Great organization skills.
Willingness to learn and handle any task presented to you.
An exceptional communicator, both written and verbal.
Be able to understand and execute solutions for simple and complex problems.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Outstanding work ethic and sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Reliable and trustworthy.
