- Core Carpentry Skills -
Trim and molding installation (baseboards, casings, crown, chair rail, etc.)
Door and window installation and adjustment
Cabinet and built-in installation
Stair railing and tread finishing
Wainscoting, paneling, and custom millwork
Precision measuring, cutting, and fitting
Reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings
Layout and squaring techniques
Nail, screw, and fastener selection for finish applications
- Tools & Equipment-
Tool belt with essential hand tools, drill, impact, and other essential tools needed to complete job sites.
Skilled with miter saws, table saws, routers, planers, and nail guns
Use of levels, laser layout tools, and measuring devices
Experience with sanders, planers, and finish hand tools
Maintenance and calibration of precision tools
- Finish & Detail Work -
Wood sanding, staining, and sealing
Trim and joint alignment for seamless appearance
Caulking, filling, and touch-up techniques
Matching and blending wood grain and stain color
Hardware installation (hinges, knobs, pulls, latches)
Finish material handling to prevent damage
- Responsibilities -
Unload and carry materials at construction sites.
Work with the Project Manager to complete carpentry and related tasks.
Clean the job site daily and maintain cleanliness to company standards.
Confirm completion of assigned tasks and report progress to the Foreman or Project Manager.
Notify the Foreman/PM of any delays or required change orders.
Report any on-site injuries involving employees or non-employees immediately.
Perform quality control checks on completed work.
Return all tools and materials to their designated locations daily.
Serve as a proactive problem-solver on-site.
- Requirements -
Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Willingness to learn multiple trades within the company, primarily framing.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Excellent balance and hand-eye coordination.
Must own a smartphone ($25/month reimbursement provided).
Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar role.
Strong understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA safety guidelines.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Effective communication and reporting abilities.
Solid math and problem-solving skills.
Good physical condition and stamina.
High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification (carpentry, electrical, etc.) preferred.
