Test & Balance Technician
Hourly Rate: $25 - $75+
Position Reports to: Customer Service Representatives
Office Location: Anaheim, CA
Summary
Test and balance technicians are responsible for providing technical services to our clients and for generating reports which include all detailed project-related information. Some of the services TAB technicians commonly provide are air and water balance, fire life safety testing, duct leakage testing, fume hood testing and cleanroom certification.
Responsibilities
Inspect systems to verify compliance with design
Test and set systems in accordance with the mechanical engineer’s design and AABC standards
Report outstanding issues in writing both to our office and to our client
Submit progress reports on a per project basis
Prepare work authorization forms for all services provided that lie outside of the contracted scope
Code the drawings and confirm that the coding matches the report
Generate a detailed test and balance report for every job
Submit completed projects & documentation in a timely manner through the appropriate channel
Follow up on questions from the office, the client and/or the mechanical engineer about the services provided
Adhere to all company policies listed on the ‘Duties and Expectations’ document
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Associates degree or higher required. Bachelor’s Degree in business, mathematics, engineering or similar field of study is preferred which may be partially substituted by equivalent work experience.
A strong aptitude to work with numbers and technological savviness
Ability to communicate general project conditions and problems through written reports
Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
Self starter with good work ethic

Time management and organizational skills - able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strategic thinking skills including attention to detail and accuracy

Willingness to travel to/from project sites and to/from our office
Valid drivers license and dependable, insured transportation

Comprehension of mechanical prints and specifications
Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations
Ability to pass Drug tests as required
Strong computer skills are a must

Language Ability
Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, technical reports, and city/state/government regulations. Ability to write technical reports and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, co-workers, and/or the general public.
Math Ability
Ability to use and apply basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, control programs and test and balance software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
AABC Certification (Test & Balance Technician certification is required once trained & capable). Other safety certificates will be required & must be continually maintained as you progress in the position.
