Full-Time Pick-Up/Delivery Driver performs work in the operation of a vehicle to ensure safe delivery of parts to and from customers. In addition, employee will be required to perform duties inside our warehouse, driving, and other duties as assigned. Drivers are responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in a safe environment and ensuring compliance with company procedures in accordance to companies expectations. Overnight runs to San Fran or other cities will be required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows all company policies, procedures and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies
Ensures products are delivered on time and in excellent condition
Drives delivery vehicle to transport parts to customers, including the loading and unloading of parts
Maintains a safe driving and working environment, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Picks up parts from nearby outside vendors and delivers to our jobsites or the shop
Ensure appropriate delivery documentation is generated and issued for each delivery
Follows proper accident procedures
Properly maintains vehicle(s) and takes the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance issues
Ensures that assigned company vehicle is kept clean and presentable
Inspects, protects, and maintains company assets, merchandise, and vehicles
Responsible for the loading and unloading of the delivery trucks
Perform vehicle inspection before and after every daily route
Maintain delivery log for pickup and delivery of products to various locations
Position Requirements
Basic knowledge of Structural Steel or Metal Fabrication is a PLUS
Excellent communication and decision making skills
Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the business needs, including holidays, evenings and weekend shifts
Drivers – 25 years or older per Insurance requirements
Experience driving Flatbed 20' or longer
AT LEAST 2 years of verifiable driving experience within the last 3 years OR at least 5 years of driving experience within the last 10 years (Previous driving experiences can come from a range of industries: landscaping, construction or military).
Have a valid driver’s license without excessive moving violations, accidents, or other driving violations (Clean DMV record within the last 3years).
Pass a DOT physical, Drug Screen, & Background check (there should be no DUIs or felony convictions).
Speak and read the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public.
