Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create information architecture (IA) artifacts and develop creative design solutions and interfaces that are usable, intuitive and professional for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Collaborate with strategic product managers, engineering leads, business analysts, project managers and marketers.
- Create interaction models, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
- Assist in refining the architecture, user interface, product features, and end-to-end experience for new features/functionality.
- Hold design reviews and provide critique and feedback.
- Participate in research to guide product design decisions (user interviews, usability testing, competitive analysis, etc.).
- Remain on top of industry trends, and evaluate innovative design approaches to develop internal innovation and engaging solutions.
- Participate in research and evaluation of third-party tools to enhance processes and business results.
- Research visual design trends.
- Manage multiple competing project priorities include support of Marketing Department initiatives.
- Gain understanding target audiences' needs, tasks, and goals and translating them into design concepts.
- Work closely with customers to translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences.
- Lead immersive user research, concept testing, and usability testing and quality assurance to create solutions that best meet business objectives.
- Iteratively develop user experiences.
- Collaboratively develop proof of concept for demonstration to clients.
- Develop user personas and scenarios to clarify results of user research and focus the team's design efforts on the needs of key users.
- Assist with developing and documenting coding standards, styles guidelines.
- Assist with training efforts.
- Actively participate in all defined SDLC processes.
- Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an information architect, interaction designer, experience designer, or similar role.
- Experience working within Agile and or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Interaction Design (IxD).
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/AJAX, and preprocessors such as Sass or Less.
- Advanced to expert-level skills using prototyping tools such as Axure RP Pro, Bootstrap, etc. (Axure preferred).
- Strong proficiency with MS Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with testing tools, Raw JavaScript, and other JS frameworks is a plus.
- Responsive web, enterprise grade and mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of SEO principles and techniques.
- Proven ability to develop IA for complex transactional interfaces.
- Experience conducting user research and translating user research into design directions.
- Experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions.
- Excellent oral, written, diagrammatic communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Psychology or related field is preferred.
