Job SummaryThe position requires a credential(s) authorizing assessment of students in speech, language, and academic achievement and the psychometric testing of students under the supervision of a school psychologist as well as the conduct of speech and/or language therapy.Responsibilities:
Administers and interprets diagnostic tests to identify the language, articulation, phonological, voice, fluency, and hearing needs of referred students. Determines when the communication disability is the primary disabling condition, and conveys this to the lEP team.
Implements effective remediation strategies and behavioral management techniques to individuals enrolled in therapy.
Develops and maintains weekly schedules which allow time for direct services to students.

Provides in-service training, as appropriate.
Properly supervise all students. All students are to be under assigned adult supervision at all times during school and during any school activity. Except in an emergency, no employee will leave an assigned group unsupervised.
Responsible for the development of Assessment Reports and Individual Education Plans,
facilitate the evaluation process, and adherence to timelines.
CO-teach, collaborate and consult with general and special educators and related service providers to ensure that children receive a meaningful program and are educated in the Least Restrictive Environment.
Capacity to accept criticism calmly and with dignity, and without adopting defensive attitude.
Participate in the total educational program of the school and exhibit interest in the student activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Available for consultation with students, parents, and other personnel before and after regular school hours.
Handle requests, misunderstandings, or difficulties through proper administrative channels.
Maintain order and discipline in the classroom as will best promote the welfare of the school.
Responsible for the safety, conduct, and instruction of students in their charge and for students outside of class hours as assigned.
Responsible for the progress of students for whom they instruct.
Maintain current knowledge of teaching methodology, subject matter, and contemporary educational approaches.
Maintain confidentiality and accurate records for reporting student progress.
Take proper care of school facilities and equipment to prevent abuse and misuse.
Attend regular and special meetings as required by administration.
Maintain communication and working relationship with members of the staff and district office staff.
Maintain communication and provide frequent feedback to students and parents regarding performance.
Dress professionally and In a manner that will not Interfere with the educational environment.
Work cooperatively with the directors and administrators in the supervision and coordination of 'the respective programs.
Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the site Principal(s) or Director of Special Education.
