EXPERIENCED VETERINARY RECEPTION LEAD, FULL-TIME

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

· Work closely with your Reception team as lead coordinator to ensure team cohesiveness, compliance and provide excellent customer service.

· Working with our team you will be integral in providing care for our clients and their pets, as well as helping us improve how we deliver our best care and service.

· Help us grow as a team of caring veterinary professionals, working to exceed the expectations of our clients while providing excellent patient care, in a fun and supportive environment.

· Learning new skills, working hand in hand with caring team members in a challenging environment.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

Ability to work a full time, position will require some opening, closing and weekend shifts as staffing and management direct.

At least 2 years in the Veterinary Hospital industry

Cornerstone/Smartflow experience preferred (not required)

At least 2 years in a customer service lead position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide guidance and direction to subordinates.

Motivate and inspire the receptionist team to provide high quality care.

Maintain effective employee-lead communication.

Work well with all team members throughout the hospital.

Oversee the screening and assembly of veterinary records and files for use.

Professionally administer phone calls.

Requires strong communication and client service skills.

Opening and/or closing shifts.

Ability to multi-task.

Collect client fees.

Perform a variety of clerical duties.

Regular attendance and timeliness are essential.

The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Perform other essential functions as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The Reception Lead helps train, lead/coordinate, and assist receptionists, as well as encompassing all of the duties of a receptionist. The Reception Lead is under the direct guidance and supervision of upper management. This position is a full-time role, with weekend and late night requirements.

The Reception Lead uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction, but refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations not covered by instruction to upper management for decision or help. Work is reviewed in terms of adequacy of services provided and accuracy.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Strong communication, leadership and motivation skills. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. Ability to show unbiased judgment when managing people. Possession of strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of the spelling and meaning of commonly used terminology of veterinary medicine to accurately record results of tests and file veterinary medical reports according to alpha, numeric or subject matter headings. Requires strong client service skills. Considerable tact and diplomacy is required. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Critical thinking - Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications including Cornerstone, SmartFlow, MS Office (Word), Google, Care Credit, managing files and records, and other office procedures.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. Frequently position self and move about the reception area, use office machinery such as fax machines and computer, and assist clients with merchandise. Often moves inventory to stock shelves. Frequently handling 30 pounds and occasionally handling 50 pounds. Often transports patients to weigh on scales Frequently required to communicate with clients, team members and associates. Must be able to exchange accurate information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients; hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises; exposure to bites, scratches and animal wastes; possible exposure to contagious diseases.
