An extended family with two homes in Southern California – 1 in Palm Springs and 1 in Rancho Mirage - who spend the season (late October through May) have created a new role for an experienced Houseman/Executive Housekeeper to maintain their home. This is a full-time year-round position offering $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits (including health benefits, paid time off, and overtime pay; uniforms provided).
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in fine homes, luxury hotels, or the interior of a yacht. We are looking for someone who is happy with high standards, very neat, well organized, and careful. The candidate will possess a service heart, a keen eye for detail, great communication skills, drives a reliable car and speaks English well. Discretion and client confidentiality a must.
Primary responsibilities will include general cleaning, laundry, making beds, serving drinks and dinner at parties, dog walking, and running errands. Knowledge of cleaning fine furnishings, crystal and silver care preferred. We are prepared to offer the right person training. The family’s housekeeper of 20 years will be reducing her schedule and will continue handling the ironing and there is a Cook at the homes as well. We will provide a generally fixed Monday to Friday, 40-hour daytime schedule with some evenings and weekends needed from November to end of May to help with parties and guests. Candidate would be paid overtime or work less during the days during those times. The Houseman/Executive Housekeeper will report to the House Manager and the Principal.
