Mobile Camping Assistant in California
Looking for an assistant to join a 30-year-old male client who is in recovery from long-term health issues. Fresh air and camping are crucial to his healing process, and he follows Covid precautions. You will be traveling and camping continuously with him throughout California, helping with various daily tasks including managing the campsite, moving locations, laundry, cooking, and providing support for simple physical therapy exercises.
The client is currently based on a 150-acre coastal farm with electricity, but he moves to new locations every few months.
To apply: Please send a detailed email outlining who you are, why you’d be a good match, and your contact information.
Duties:
Keeping the campsite clean, organized, and secure against weather conditions
Packing and setting up camp during site moves (using the client's SUV)
Hand-washing clothes (around 7 hours a week)
Cooking two meals per day on a camp stove
Occasionally assisting with basic physical therapy exercises
This role involves tent camping in various locations across California (and potentially beyond). You will experience various weather conditions such as cold, rain, wind, and heat. It is essential that you’re resilient and comfortable with challenging environments, as well as solitude since the client spends a lot of time working on his laptop. However, he enjoys fun downtime too and is open to forming a friendship—watching movies, playing video games, making fires, and exploring. Dogs are welcome.
You’ll be traveling in the client’s SUV, meaning you cannot bring your own vehicle and should be comfortable living with minimal belongings.
Compensation: $2,000-2,500 per month.
NOTE: To be considered, leave a DETAILED email response to this post explaining who you are, why you would be a good fit, and best contact number. It is a bonus to include any links with information that would allow us to get to better know you.
