The receptionist is considered the first point of contact in the dental office. Receptionists will ensure that patients receive great customer service from the time they show up and leave from their dental appointment. They will also prepare charts and guide patients to complete forms, answer phones, and monitor patient schedules for upcoming appointments.

Duties:
Open and close dental office according to office protocol
Review the office for a neat, professional appearance and make necessary changes
Check the daily schedule for accuracy and productivity
Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism
Review supplies for reception and provides order list to Administration
Ensure that HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices Notice is on display
Update insurance information on all patients at all times
Mail or electronically submit claim forms from the office
Be an active participant in staff meetings
Perform other tasks as assigned by manager or administration
Enter patient financial activity in Dentrix Software
Maintain accounts receivable activity
Prepare bank deposits and End of the day Reports
PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
Bilingual (SPANISH)
High school diploma
2 years of dental office experience
Legible handwriting for notations in charts
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members, and community
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
Team player
Able to adapt to office policy improvements (office is constantly striving for an improved customer care/service)
Customer service or patient relations experience
Quick response/accurate data entry
Communicate all concerns to the manager or administration
