Overview / Workers will start work Monday April 15 at the Palm Springs Tramway Job will be 4-6 weeks in duration.
Tower Painters Inc needs to hire 2 exceptional employees. Job is extremely physically demanding at great heights.
Work starts at 6:30AM and we work 5 days a week. Again, this is a very physically demanding job that requires physical aptitude and the ability to work on steel towers high off the ground
Employees will climb on structural steel towers and use torque wrenches to torque (loosen and retighten), or tighten (check the tightness) of all the bolts that hold together the structural steel members of the tram tower.
Employees will mark all bolts that have been tested, tighten any bolts that are loose, and replace any bolts that are stretched. (on-site training provided)
Employees will be 100% tied on to the tower structure with full body harnesses and both safety and static lines.
Daily routine will be to ride the tram car to the tower being worked on, spend the day on the tower, and ride the tram car back down to the tram base in the evening. Rides off the tower to the top or base terminals during the workday will not be available except for emergency purposes.
Employee Responsibilities and Physical Requirements:
Employees will use full body or tree climbers harnesses, safety lines, static lines, torque wrenches (up to 6 in length), and ropes to keep wrenches with them.
Ability to climb and hang from towers up to 300, using static lines and safety lines.
Ability to sit in harness 8-9 hours per day
Carry up to 50 lbs
Pull a torque wrench up to 890 ft/lbs
Transportation to and from company supplied lodging to job site (employees may ride share with full time company personnel).
Employee understands and follows all safety rules and methods, suggests safer methods of work when appropriate, and is conscious of the safety of other workers and anyone else present on the job site.
Must be a California Resident to be considered for employment
