Private polo club in Indio, California seeking a part-time groom/rider for the upcoming polo season.
This position focuses strictly on horse preparation and exercise — no barn chores (no feeding, mucking, or stall work). Small, well-maintained string of horses.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday
Approx. 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (3 hours/day)
Season runs through polo season (roughly [insert months, e.g., November–April])
Responsibilities:
Prepare and tack horses for practice and game days
Ride and pony sets for daily exercise
Assist with warm-up and cool-down routines
Maintain tack used during sessions
Follow owner’s direction for horse prep and readiness
Requirements:
Must be comfortable riding and handling multiple horses
English speaking preferred
Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail
Prior polo or horse prep experience preferred but not required
Must have own transportation to and from the club
Compensation:
Flat monthly rate (based on experience and consistency)
Paid position, private environment, small string of horses
Professional, low-stress setting with well-cared-for horses
