GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Accounting Manager oversees various aspects of the Accounting Department. This role performs general ledger review, account reconciliations, extensive cost accounting analysis, fixed asset accounting, and assists in accounts receivable and payable transactions among other duties in a well-established, vertically integrated Agriculture Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting Manager uses education, training and experience to perform various functions from basic journal entries to heavy G/L and cost analysis, and supervises and reviews the work of the department.
Position entails heavily assisting, reviewing, and analyzing Accounts Payable transactions for Farming and Packing Cost Accounting coding and analysis.
Prepare journal entries and G/L account reconciliations accurately and timely.
Ensure all account balances are auditable, agree to the general ledger and reflect proper safeguards.
Research, analyze and interpret issues, differences and inconsistencies within the general ledger.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external customers to secure required financial data for month-end closings, as well as to produce various reports.
Analyze costs related to growing, harvesting, and packing operations.
Assist with year-end financial statement audits and other regulatory examination requests.
Update job knowledge by attending seminars/webinars and reading professional publications.
Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
CPA license preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent accounting software and excel user and administration skills.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Experience in Agriculture preferred; Construction or Manufacturing acceptable.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
