SUMMARY of POSITION
FIND Food Bank is FIND (Food in Need of Distribution); we are dedicated to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, and mobilization of resources and community involvement. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Associate/Driver loads and unloads product, handles the proper storage of food/non-food product with established operational policies, principles, and procedures. Responsible for inventory storage, rotation, and accounting. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized warehouse facility. The warehouse is required to be compliant with the Feeding America, OSHA, and AIB inspection guidelines at all time. The warehouse environment includes coolers/freezers and warehouse temperatures will vary with the seasons. Driving responsibilities will include pick up of donated food products and transport product to distribution sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
⢠Maintain a current Class B Commercial Driver's License as required
⢠Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving
⢠Loading and unloading of FIND Food Bank trucks
⢠Operate manual or electric pallet jacks according to FIND Food Bank policy and OSHA standards
⢠Ability to operate a forklift according to operation certification and OSHA standards
⢠Check orders for accuracy
⢠Deliver and unload with customer satisfaction
⢠Complete daily equipment pre-inspection
⢠Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation
⢠Log in deliveries on supervisor's log sheet
⢠Wait on customers while truck is being loaded
⢠Relay messages sent by customers while on job
⢠Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas
⢠Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse
⢠Other duties as assigned by supervisor
SKILLS and ABILITIES
⢠Minimum education required: High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
⢠Attention to detail and the ability to read orders, write instructions and complete forms
⢠Communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
⢠Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
⢠Clean driving record and current operator's license
⢠Qualifies for insurance coverage on a commercial auto policy
⢠Ability to lift 60+ pounds
Required Experience:
⢠Minimum experience required: Must be a CDL B driver
