Maxar is currently seeking a Propulsion System Analysis Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will use analysis tools to estimate the performance of propulsion systems to optimize the layout of thruster assemblies and support operation of spacecraft in orbit.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge and experience of engineering concepts to solve and find propulsion systems solutions
  • Analyze bipropellant, monopropellant, cold gas, and electric satellite propulsion systems
  • Perform subsystem analyses including the optimization of propellant loading, plume analyses, thruster alignments, and on-orbit performance assessment
  • Communicate analysis results within the organization
  • Work with power, thermal, bus electronics engineers to ensure subsystem architecture meets operational requirements
  • Continuously improve analytical models and software tools
  • Support the qualification of propulsion systems and components


Minimum Requirements:
  • or permanent resident
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related discipline. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Ability to create CAD models and release drawings
  • Ability to perform thermal and/or structural analysis
