Inpatient Scheduler

Description We are seeking an Inpatient Scheduler for a temporary 13-week assignment. The Inpatient Scheduler will play a key role in supporting patient care by coordinating clinic appointments, procedure scheduling, and working in tandem with Nurse Coordinators. The Inpatient Scheduler will handle high volumes of patient calls, manage scheduling logistics, and ensure efficient workflow in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Responsibilities:

Schedule and coordinate pre-op appointments.

Manage case intake and scheduling.

Handle a high volume of patient calls and follow-ups after procedures.

Work closely with Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Coordinators.

Assist in moving patient openings and blocking schedules as a Super User.

Run reports for multiple locations, including 300P, 500P, OSC, Hoover Building, Emeryville, and CCSB.

Upload radiology images to PACS and Life Image.

Obtain and distribute medical records using RightFax.

Scan and organize patient records.

Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in cross-training rotations.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.

Preferred Knowledge: Medical Terminology.

Technology Experience: EPIC and Sectra/PACS preferred but not required.

Skills: Strong multi-tasking and critical thinking abilities.

Receptive to learning and training.

Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Word.

Effective verbal and written communication.

Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Strong relationship-building skills with providers, nurses, staff, and patients.
