Description Our client in North County is seeking a seasoned Tax Preparer to join their organization during a critical time in their operations. This role is ideal for tax professionals with a high attention to detail, a knack for finding applicable deductions, and a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax codes. As a Tax Preparer, you will assist individuals and businesses in completing their tax returns while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You’ll also play a pivotal role in helping clients identify potential tax savings opportunities and guiding them through complex tax rules. Prepare and file accurate and timely federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Conduct in-depth reviews of financial records, providing analysis to ensure deductions and credits are maximized.
Research tax-related issues and discrepancies to ensure all returns comply with current tax laws and regulations.
Communicate effectively with clients to clarify tax-related questions and provide detailed explanations and advice.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax codes and laws to ensure compliance and identify potential savings opportunities for clients.
Support tax audits by providing necessary documentation and interfacing with tax authorities.
Organize and maintain accurate client records and maintain confidentiality for all transactions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Enrolled Agent certification strongly preferred.
2+ years of experience in tax preparation for both individuals and businesses.
Expertise in federal and state tax codes and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software such as ProSeries, Lacerte, or UltraTax, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work efficiently with tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interactions.
