Knife River has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in Medford / Central Point, Oregon.

Duties include:

- Support month-end and year-end close process.

- Preparation of journal entries, including all appropriate back-up information.

- Preparation of detailed balance sheet account reconciliations.

- Preparation of fixed assets and depreciation transactions.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial related reports.

- Work with operations management to provide accounting and analytical support.

- Prepare royalty, property tax and insurance reports for external reporting.

- Assist with annual audit and tax return preparation.

- Assist in research, analysis and evaluation of existing and/or proposed accounting principles.

- Assist in establishing, maintaining and enhancing accounting controls and procedures.

- Provide assistance and analysis on special projects or other financial activities, as needed.

- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.

- Travel may be required.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with an accounting emphasis from an accredited college or university.

- Two or more years of progressive accounting experience.

- Proven knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

- Strong analytical and financial skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- High ethical and moral standards.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs with an intermediate to advanced ability with Excel.

- Professional work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA or CMA certified.

- Construction industry experience.

- JDEdwards and Oracle Business Intelligence software experience.
