If so, you might be just who we’re looking for! We’re a trucking company seeking to add a full-time dispatcher to our team.
Redding Lumber Transport, Inc. began operations in April 1972 with one truck transporting lumber and building materials within California. Over the years, we’ve grown as a reliable carrier with 100+ trucks dedicated to serving customers primarily in the seven western states utilizing refrigerated vans and dry vans, and the eleven western states utilizing flatbed equipment.
POSITION
We are hiring for a full-time dispatcher in our Redding office. Our office operates 7 days a week and we are looking to fill a position for Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. After completion of training, weekend shifts and night calls are assigned on a rotation for additional pay.
Responsibilities will include:
- Dispatching drivers
- Overseeing driver routes and delivery status
- Tracking and updating all loads in transportation management system
- Proactively addressing problems and suggesting solutions
- Corresponding with customers and drivers via phone, email, and transportation management system
- Coordinating with shop personnel
- Working as a team with your fellow dispatchers
Experience and qualifications needed:
- 2 years’ dispatching experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency to utilize transportation management software
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
- Critical thinker and ability to problem solve
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and Outlook
Compensation dependent upon experience. Benefits available after probationary period.
