Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the financial industry, located in Redwood City, California, United States. The Controller will be responsible for managing all cash handling procedures, conducting reconciliation and analysis for various balance sheet accounts, and preparing and distributing financial reports. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. Conduct thorough reconciliation and analysis for various balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy. Evaluate financial results for both internal stakeholders and external reporting purposes to provide a comprehensive understanding of the company's financial status. Monitor and maintain monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet activities to track financial performance. Develop and implement financial forecasts and budgets, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement. Review and analyze the general ledger and balance sheet to ensure accuracy and compliance. Address and resolve various accounting and reconciliation issues promptly and efficiently. Prepare and distribute financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as internal and external audit documentation. Implement and maintain inventory and cost control procedures to optimize resources. Administer payroll and human resources functions to ensure smooth operations. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned to support the overall financial operations of the company. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, specifically Oracle and SAP Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations Understanding of how to prepare and post journal entries Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to direct and supervise a team Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data Proven ability to handle multiple tasks within strict time constraints Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; professional certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is a plus.
