Description A Tax Preparer position has become available at an Robert Half firm in the Redwood City, California area. In this Tax Preparer role you will perform simple and complex State and Federal tax returns for individual and small businesses. Utilize your attention to detail in this amazing opportunity for a Tax Preparer in a deadline-driven environment. This is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity. Qualified candidates should apply as soon as possible! This role is 100% remote and does require experience with CCH Axcess. The role can be part-time or potentially full-time in hours. The duration is through April 15, 2024 with possible extension.How you will make an impact
Interact with clients to gather required information/documents
Complete other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Draw up transaction tax returns utilizing various methods (E File, EDI Upload) with various government agencies
Review and invoice for form preparation fees
Reply to incoming client calls to help with tax questions and set appointments
Type appropriate data into Tax software application (CCH Axcess)
Requirements
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Experience with high volume data entry
Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or finance preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of CCH Prosystem or Axcess
Microsoft Outlook experience required
