WILKE FLEURY LLP is seeking an experienced full-time Accounting Clerk responsible for both A/P and A/R in support of the firm’s Accounting department and all employees, providing responsive service to clients, colleagues and vendors as needed.
An Accounting Clerk at Wilke Fleury is extremely accurate, organized, able to multi-task, and has excellent attention to detail. Candidate must have superior technology skills, as well as excellent English, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Teamwork is prized at Wilke Fleury, so the ideal candidate has a positive, service-oriented attitude, and interacts well with both clients and colleagues, representing the law firm in an efficient, professional and mature manner. Duties include:
A/P Process A/P Checks; balance and verify data entry; customer service for vendors and clients on A/P inquiries; maintain vendor database (in Surepoint); obtain W-9 forms from vendors; process 1099 forms; set up new G/L numbers; print/distribute checks, process ACHs; process A/R and post bank deposits; code disbursements; reconcile accounts and month-end.
A/R – Finalize client pre-payments (PPD) and process Trust Checks; prepare daily cash deposits; preparing; distribute Daily Cash Report and deposit summary; follow-up on A/R inquiries.
General – Input G/L Entries and assist with coding and tracking receipts and expenses. Review bank entries & balances. Coordinate with management regarding cash and accounting items. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Set up general ledger numbers and vendors. Make annual adjusting entries. Perform monthly/annual closings.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: An Accounting Clerk at Wilke Fleury is capable of effectively utilizing the firm’s software programs including but not limited to: JURIS/Surepoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, iManage (DMS), Adobe Acrobat Pro (.pdfs), and the Internet (for research). Minimum typing speed: 60 wpm.
