We are a fast-growing, award-winning startup pioneering the future of outdoor recreation with electric-powered kayaks, jet skis, and other marine craft. We even appeared on Shark Tank TWICE. We’re a small but ambitious team that thrives on innovation, speed, and passion for the water. We’re now looking for a senior-level Mechanical Engineer to help us scale production and bring our products to life.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of electric kayaks, jet skis, boats, and related products and the components used in manufacturing these products.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to ensure efficient, scalable, and cost-effective production.
- Create and manage CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
- Work directly with tooling and manufacturing partners—establishing clear timelines, tracking progress, and managing deliverables.
- Drive projects independently with minimal oversight, while delivering results quickly and accurately.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to bring concepts to market.
- Ensure all mechanical designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, preferably with consumer products or vehicles.
- Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering or related field required).
- Strong CAD expertise (SolidWorks or similar).
- Proven track record of managing vendors and tooling partners.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a startup environment: fast-moving, resourceful, and hands-on.
- A passion for outdoor recreation, small business, and marine products.

Pay/Benefits/Other Details:
- This will start off as a contract engagement for approximately 3 months. After which time we can discuss it moving into a part/full-time role.
- We will consider it being a remote position, but you will be required to come to Sacramento at least once a month for 1-2 days
- Looking for someone to start IMMEDIATELY.
