Waste Water Engineers & Project Managers (CA)

SENIOR ENGINEERS ($105k-$125k) and PROJECT MANAGERS ($124k-$145k) needed for a leading Sacramento Specialized Association. This position is a full time OR part time, 100% REMOTE position. MUST live and be able to travel throughout the state of CA. These are DIRECT HIRE roles that offer an outstanding benefits package. Must be

proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe. AutoCad, Bluebeam, Arc GIS, water modeling software, is not required but preferred.

Must have ability to travel to off-site work locations depending on job assignments.

Must be able to travel for extended periods thru the state by car or plane.

Must possess and maintain a CA Driver’s License.

Engineering Priorities

Conceptual Engineering: Provide conceptual engineering technical assistance to systems needing support for existing conditions and concerns (e.g., regulatory compliance, etc.).

Preliminary Engineering and Design: Provide preliminary engineering and design technical assistance; assistance with design schematics and layouts; base mapping, ROW, easement and permitting assistance, coordination with sub consultants in the areas of environmental, survey, geotechnical studies, hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, etc.

Perform needs assessments, systems evaluations, preliminary engineering, technical memorandums; and full design of plans, specifications, and bidding and contracting documents.

Job Functions

Provide support for projects serving small water systems that identify and solve water system issues.

Deliver various drinking water and wastewater projects with a team of field technicians and engineers

Work in collaboration with State and local water officials to achieve measurable water quality improvement.

Must be advanced at maintaining client relationships with a solid reputation for project delivery and management.

Duties

Perform calculations and analysis. Prepare cost estimates.

Prepare plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports for water and/or wastewater projects.

Engage in staff development and mentoring.

Prepare records, reports, and correspondence. Research and project development.

Create, update, and prepare maps, figures, plans, profiles, and detailed drawing. Technical writing.

Ability to perform QA/QC review of plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports, etc.

Experience/ Education

Minimum five years’ experience with water and wastewater engineering related projects

Licensed California Professional Engineer

Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Project Manager Priorities

Will provide management and oversight of projects serving small water systems that identify and solve water system issues. Will be responsible for delivering various drinking water and wastewater projects with a team of field technicians and engineers working in collaboration with State and local water officials to achieve measurable improvement to water quality and supply through water system efficiency and sustainability. Must be excellent at maintaining client relationships with a solid reputation for project delivery and management. This is an opportunity to integrate into a team to deliver varied drinking water/wastewater and civil projects (distribution system improvement projects, wells, pipelines, reservoirs, sanitary sewers, force mains, water and wastewater treatment plants, collection facilities, and pump stations) through planning and design.

Job Duties

Manage complex engineering and planning work for clients.

Preparation of plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports for water and/or wastewater projects

Engages in staff development and mentoring of staff/team members

Oversee the overall quality of project deliverables

Lead project teams to provide successful projects that meet client needs

Be the primary point of contact on projects

Meet deadlines and track project budgets efficiently

Research and project development. Technical writing

Prepare cost estimates. Perform calculations and analysis

Create, update, and prepare maps, figures, plans, profiles and detailed drawings

QA/QC review of plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports, etc.

Fosters and maintains one on one relationships with clients.

Minimum Requirements

9+ years’ minimum experience with water and wastewater engineering related projects

Licensed California Professional Engineer

Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Computer, verbal, project management skills

Strong technical writing and editing ability

Good verbal and online communication

Teamwork and problem-solving abilities

Must be dedicated about maintaining and enhancing client relationships

Must be able to work independently and on a team and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and counterparties.

Knowledge of engineering design and construction practices

Read and understand codes and regulations, parcel and subdivision maps, construction improvement plans, and specifications.

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
