Description A bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining a company's financial records. They take care of tasks such as data entry, processing invoices, maintaining and balancing subsidiaries, general ledgers, and historical accounts. Bookkeepers prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.Responsibilities often include:

Recording financial transactions and maintain a record of company expenses.

Ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledgers, customer ledger, and general ledger.

Managing bank feeds and reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

Handling the payroll by tracking hour rates, daily attendance, and ensuring the employees are paid on time.

Preparing financial statements including profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.

Processing invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, etc.

Participating in tax audits and payroll.

Maintaining subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

To succeed in this role, bookkeepers often need strong math skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
