As part of the Community Services Agency, the Department of Community Development is a multi-disciplinary office providing a range of development services to citizens, appointed boards, and commissions. The Department of Community Development ensures that all development is consistent with State Law and Building Codes. We work together to protect life and property, while improving quality of life and the environment. The Department of Community Development is comprised of the following divisions: Administrative Services; Planning and Environmental Review; Building, Permits, and Inspection; County Engineering; Code Enforcement; Construction Management and Inspection. Reporting to the Director of Community Development, the Development Project Manager (Development Manager) will serve as single-point-of-contact facilitator for projects that will provide significant benefit and value to our community and will help fulfill the Board of Supervisors’ goal of creating livable communities in the County.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Helping to identify and establish project goals, milestones, critical paths, and priorities. Convening meetings with subject matter experts and design professionals to move projects forward and solve project issues. Assisting with pre-application meeting facilitation, as appropriate. Preparing preliminary permit fee and impact fee estimates upon request. Facilitating meetings to assist customers with resolving Conditions of Approval for their project. Preparing post-project evaluations for select projects to highlight elements of the development process that went well and reveal opportunities for improvement.Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. ANDFour years of paid full-time experience performing city, county or regional land use planning or project management; economic development; redevelopment; business development; private development; district formation; or a closely related field. Note:Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the educational requirement on the basis of one (1) year of experience is equal to 30 semester units (45 quarter units). The educational requirement is considered to require a minimum of 120 semester units (180 quarter units).
