compensation: PAY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION
CNA/CAREGIVER needed for evening shifts 5pm to 9pm Monday thru Friday (4hr shifts plus on-call/backup for all shifts) - Private Home Care Roseville, CA.
Employment type: 20 hours per week plus.
CNA /CAREGIVER with at least 4 years of experience to care for male Veteran Patient who has ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis); is bedridden; ventilator dependent; Tracheid; has PEG feeding tube; and non-verbal.
Good assessment skills, including clinical knowledge and experience (or ability to inquire) in caring for the immobile patient. Knowledge and ability to administer scheduled medication through Peg tube. Implementation and initiative required. Understanding and foresight for the later stage of ALS and future demise. Must be able to perform Incontinence care - changing chucks/depends; Trach care; breathing treatments; bathing/showering; grooming/personal hygiene; transfers using Hoyer lift or lift over the bed; bed bound care; laundry, light cleaning of patient room per shift, companionship, range of motion exercises, as well as other duties as needed to help increase quality of life. Will be trained for daily routine. Will have other caregiver to help at same time so must be a team player.
Professional behavior required; no smoking, no texting or talking on the phone during shift; good communication skills and dress appropriately for position. (ex: Scrubs, closed shoes)
