Human Resources/Payroll Manager

Provide leadership and guidance to the organizations HR & Payroll Department.

Supervise, instruct and support the HR and Payroll team.

The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements is essential.

Through experience the ideal candidate should have developed keen insight into the exposure and liability inherent in employment liability and identify, evaluate and assist with resolution in the areas of:

o Wage and Hour

o Employee Conflict/Wrongdoing

o Harassment

o Discrimination

o Reasonable accommodation

o Termination

Serving as liaison to managers, associates, and various levels of senior management must have the knowledge and ability to provide answers to moderate to complex, specialized and sensitive questions regarding policy and procedure interpretation with federal, state and local employment laws and statutes including benefits and payroll related items.

Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.

Knowledge of and the interaction between the various leave laws such as; ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL.

Maintains knowledge of the constantly evolving laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, payroll, benefits administration and talent management.

Conduct orientation with corporate staff members to familiarize them with the company’s ethics and culture.

Actively oversee the timely completion of payroll processing, audits and adjustments; serving as the primary liaison between the Payroll Administrator, CEO, VP of Operations and Finance/Accounting Departments working quickly and effectively to address payroll related issues or concerns that arise.

Participate in the selection, management and open enrollment for medical and 401.

Process 401k deferrals and changes in payroll and manage 401k annual audit.

Participate in the management of the workers’ compensation program and claims process.

Manage annual administration and reporting requirements for:

o OSHA 300 Logs

o California Pay Data

o EEO-1

o CMS

o 1095-C

Additional responsibilities and projects may be required.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 2-5 years of complete HR/Payroll cycle processing experience

Able to focus on the immediate task with accuracy – this is a fast paced environment

Strong organizational skills to successfully meet department deadlines

Ability to perform tasks and responsibilities using good judgment with the appropriate sense of urgency

Strong MS Outlook; Word; Excel;10 key by touch

Must have good math skills and be detail oriented

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Able to communicate across various audience levels

Have a good work ethic; good attendance is a requirement of the position

Friendly, professional demeanor; be a team player

Ability to get along with people

Maintain strict confidentiality working with sensitive information
