We are hiring someone to help us take care of our animals, specifically our Rodents & to assist in a multitude of odd jobs around the ranch (Ranch Hand). We are snake breeders, and need someone to help manage their food population.
This is a FARM type of job. It is not glamorous; You must like animals and you must be willing to get dirty.
We know of many rodent breeders in this market- Experience would be preferred, however it is not necessary; We will train you.
We deal with over 100-200 cages and one thousand or more grow-out babies at a time. You must be an ORGANIZED and a meticulous individual.
Our goal is to triple production with a new worker, thus, this can end up being a full time job if you will help us grow the collection.
Job entails:
Working directly with our Snake Manager
Providing appropriate feed size orders
Cage Cleaning
Colony Management
Moving Mothers to maternity units
Facility cleaning
Counting animals
Organizing & Collecting feeders for future customers
Organizing & Collecting feeders for the Reptile Management
Analyzing future production projections
Willingness to work with other animals
Mixing Rodent Feed (seeds, nuts and other feed we use)
Managing Feed intake from the colony (this is simple)
Feeder retention
Fertilizer creation
Facility sanitation
Possible Tractor work (small tractor to move waste and develop fertilizer from droppings)
Medical attention to colony if needed
Helping to grow a rabbit colony
Learning the industry
Possibly helping us with reptiles and cage cleaning
Possibly helping us at reptile shows
OTHER JOBS / WORK on Ranch: From time to time we participate in other labor activities, as we are constantly trying to develop our landscape and the property / facilities
Planting trees
Fencing
Grounds keeping
Random labor duties
All of this is EXTREMELY simple work, it just takes time and needs someone that will be able to have proper focus.

Must have reliable transportation
Trial Period: $105 per day contract for 9-5 ranch operation | Standard breaks included (which is 30 min lunch & multiple 15 min breaks =7 hours of work)
We want part time to start. As you prove that you are accountable and an asset to the ranch we can add more work and it can become a full time position. There is always much to do as we grow.
MOST DAYS LUNCH is ALSO provided by the ranch, however, is not a guarantee

This is a FAMILY Ranch. Our kids are on the property. We need to make sure that whoever we hire for a trial period (and of course for long term work) is extremely respectful, kind, professional and someone we want to be part of our team.
