Construction Contractor is a reputable construction company specializing in commercial projects across California. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a Superintendent to join our team.

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a Superintendent who is responsible for all field operations and who oversees and manages daily operations on a construction site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to project standards. They act as a liaison between project managers, subcontractors, site workers, and clients, maintaining safety and productivity while addressing potential challenges

Responsibilities:

Ensure that the day-to-day coordination of the company’s trade contractors and sub-contractors turn out high quality work that meets the approved project schedule.

Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services and stay within budget.

Develop, document and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field.

Monitor progress and address any delays or issues that arise during construction.

Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems before they arise.

Obtain or verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes.

Verify safety compliance with all trades; act as a primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies.

Conduct maintenance and planning of “work-arounds” shutdowns and tie-ins.

Establish credibility among Clients, Trade Contractors, Unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy work environment.

Lead contractor meetings on a regular basis.

Create, manage and update the project schedule, create and implement contingency plans when necessary.

Communicate schedule status, updates and changes to Project Team and Trade Contractors.

Oversee project quality plan and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:

Have the general knowledge, skills and expertise needed to lead field operations on individual projects or multiple projects.

Must have proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, along with knowledge of all phases of the construction process.

Experience leading crews, subcontractors, and foremen to maintain productivity and morale.

Must possess knowledge and a strong understanding of construction safety procedures, along with the ability to implement and enforce the project safety plan effectively.

Must have experience supervising a project team.

Physical and Practical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Capability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods on construction sites.
