Bilingual (Spanish/English) Legal Secretary
Valenzuela & Montoya, LLP is hiring for an entry level bilingual Legal Secretary to join our boutique family law firm. The Legal Secretary will work closely with attorneys that represent clients on matters including divorce, child custody, and grandparents’ rights. Compensation: Depending on experience ($17.00 to $22.00)
This position requires 100% of the work performed in-office;
Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to `5:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Friday hours are negotiable).
Duties:
You will perform a variety of tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently including but not limited to the following:
Greet and assist clients both in person and over the phone
Oversee client intake process
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Take and manage messages or transfer to voicemail as appropriate
Correspond with court runners, process servers, and court staff
Manage attorney calendars, schedule client appointments, court appearances, confirm and coordinate depositions and other meetings
Collect and process payments from clients
Maintain and organize client files, logs, and other information
Preserve the confidentiality of each client
Maintain and audit office supplies
Other duties as assigned by attorneys

Required Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to problem solve and think creatively
Ability to maintain composure and patience with clients
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Proficiency in Word and familiarity with Excel
Exceptional punctuality and attendance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Type at least 40 words per minute
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Those with customer service, hospitality, and/or law firm experience are encouraged to apply
Preference will be given for applicants with a bachelor’s degree or at least 24 college units in law related courses
