This is an entry level position in a busy flower shop. Many of our designers started their career in this position. We will consider full-time or part-time. Our shop is open Monday-Saturday, and we occasionally have weddings on Sundays.
Entry level duties will include:
Processing flowers
Cleaning and organizing supplies and flower orders
Cleaning and condensing flowers in cooler
Answering telephones
Enter orders into our computers
Wait on customers
Making deliveries
Other duties as assigned
This job requires long periods of standing, carrying and you must be able to safely lift 40 pounds.
Flower processing and organizing will give you the first level of training in flower care and handling, as well as the names and characteristics of various flowers. The next step would be learning to green containers and assist designers with their design assignments. Once you master these skills, you will begin making basic arrangements, corsages and boutonnieres, and other flower arranging activities. We will continue to help you grow your skill set equivalent to the work you put into your duties and learning. This is essentially paid training.
