Bentec Medical specializes in contract manufacturing of OEM silicone medical components and devices for many of the biggest names in the medical device industry. The company also designs, manufactures and distributes its own line of proprietary medical devices.

Summary

Operates Silicone molding/milling equipment (compression, transfer, LIM presses) as well as parts casting, tubing extrusion and silicone sheeting (calender, mill) to fabricate parts used for OEM customers and Bentec medical devices, by performing the following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Cleans working area: floors, counter tops and tools prior to start of production, using approved cleaning agents and clean room wipes defined by company.

Molds require specific cleaning practices prior to use; these will be defined by the Lead Person.

Line clearance; verify no other materials or sources of contamination are within work station, to avoid mix-ups, contamination and spoilage.

Obtains milled materials from approved storage area per the router. Records material lot numbers used on router.

Weighs, cuts and loads material into mold cavities, enclosed canisters or casting trays.

Operates equipment according to the set-up sheet and process parameters defined by Lead Person.

Provides first article samples to quality control in-process inspectors for verification of proper set-up and part specifications and tolerance conformance.

Assist Lead Person in mold / equipment set-up changes.

Documents productivity and quality results on device history records. (Routers)

Performs job in compliance with FDA, GMP and QSR's requirements, defined within the company's Standard Operating Procedures.

2 openings - Friday, Saturday Sunday 4pm to 4:30 am. Shift differential for this position and 4 hours a day of OT pay for hours in excess of 8 per day. Monday through Thursday 2am to 2:30pm Shift differential for this position and 4 hours a day of OT pay for hours in excess of 8 per day.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and write English utilizing a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, as well as to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written, or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong attention to detail required. Computer literate, able to retrieve information related to routers, SOP's and drawings from the Intranet. Terminals located on the production floor.
