Self-starter admin for tax and accounting firm

Local independent tax and accounting firm seeks a self-starter, detail-oriented and customer-focused individual. Duties include a bit of all aspects of a tax and accounting office to include office administration, bookkeeping, and assisting with tax filings for Federal, State, and Local jurisdictions. Our primary focus is earning our clients trust in every interaction with our clients so we can build long-term relationships with our clients.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. However industry experience is also welcome.

-Experience working in a tax and accounting firm or similar experience.

-Certification as a Tax Preparer (e.g., Registered Tax Return Preparer or Enrolled Agent) is a plus.

-Experience with tax software (e.g. QuickBooks, Drake Tax Software).

-Knowledge of federal and state tax laws is a plus.

-Excellent communication and customer service skills.

-Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Pay is dependent upon experience – compensation will be competitive in the industry and region. Hours are 30 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
