We're looking for a dependable 1099 Field Technician to support our growing low-voltage and networking projects.
If you have experience in network cabling, basic networking, access control wiring, and camera installation,
this is a great opportunity for flexible, well-paying work.
Compensation:
- $55-$65/hour depending on experience
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Mileage reimbursement for long-distance travel
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cabling
- Set up basic networking devices (modems, routers, switches, APs)
- Wire and install access control hardware (strikes, maglocks, card readers)
- Mount and configure security cameras (IP and analog)
- Follow site plans, communicate with project managers, and document progress
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Requirements:
- Proven experience with structured cabling and low-voltage installations
- Solid grasp of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, PoE, DHCP, etc.)
- Own reliable work vehicle
- Own set of tools for cabling and device installation
- Smartphone for communication and job tracking
- Willingness to travel within a 3-4 hour radius of Sacramento
- Professional appearance and attitude
Bonus Skills (Not Required, But a Plus):
- Certifications (CompTIA, BICSI, etc.)
- Experience with construction sites or multifamily builds
- Familiarity with access control platforms or NVR systems
