We are a new MSP (managed services provider) in Roseville looking to hire employee number 1. This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week, mainly Monday-Friday with occasional weekends (approximately 6 weekends per year). We would also be willing to offer a full-time position to the right candidate.

Job Duties

As a helpdesk support technician, your job will be to resolve Windows OS problems, application compatibility problems with MS Office, Outlook, Office 365, Adobe PDF, and some line of business applications. You will also need to troubleshoot common and basic network problems, for example: wrong wiring, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers, switches, etc. Furthermore, you will need to install new computers, hard drives, routers, wireless access points and small business applications. You must document each service interaction in a clear and precise way, and you must record the time worked on every service ticket.

Experience & Education

As a Tier-1 technician, good technical knowledge is required, but we don't expect the applicant to have complete technical mastery in all of the specific job descriptions stated above. All candidates with good working knowledge in the subjects mentioned above are highly encouraged to apply. The Tier-1 technician is normally at a level of CompTIA A+ and/or at the CompTIA Network + support levels. Formal training and certifications are good, but not determinative. Regardless of the number of certifications or experience, all candidates will be evaluated and considered. To our company, your communication skills, ability to learn, and personality are as important as your technical knowledge.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds and to occasionally get on a ladder inside an office building to track down network wires or install wireless access points.
