The Fleet Shop Assistant receives daily leadership support from the Fleet Manager under the Director of Corporate Assets and is responsible for a variety of fleet management tasks. We place an emphasis on candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Ensure shops cleanliness and organization by:
Sweeping floors
Cleaning oil spills
Emptying Trash
Maintaining the yard
Storing tools and supplies appropriately
Move and organize equipment in designated areas.
Apply final touches and conduct cleanliness inspections on completed repairs and maintenance.
Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs on:
Automobiles
Light and heavy trucks
Construction Equipment
Specialized fleet equipment
Tasks include oil changes, inspections, brake work, tire changes, and replacing wearable items.
Participate in inspections to identify repair needs and recommend corrective actions.
Clean vehicle and equipment exteriors and interiors, including:
Pressure washing engine bays and undercarriages
Washing exteriors
Wiping down interiors
Remove trash
Accurately input repair-related data into the fleet maintenance management system.
Perform other related duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and iOS devices
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
Proficient with a variety of hand tools, and power tools
Prior training and/or maintenance experience
Ability to travel across Charge service territories is required
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or construction
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
Ability to work outdoors in the elements
Bending, stooping, kneeling
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to obtain and maintain a current DOT Medical Card
Ability to safely climb up and on trucks and loads
Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
Ability to properly secure cargo using chains and load binding devices on equipment
Compensation: $25.00
