Job Description

Job Title: HVAC Technician

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00A.M.-4:00P.M.

Job Expectation: Perform both residential and commercial HVAC repairs, troubleshooting, preventative maintenances, replacement and new system installations.

Job Duties:

1. Operate and use MaintainX, the work order platform. Be able to input notes, upload pictures and status updates.

2. Operate and use email to communicate with fellow techs and parts houses.

3. Operates power tools and equipment such as electric and pneumatic drills, hammer drills, screwdriver, saws, cutters, sprayers, circulators, vacuum pumps and cleaners, powder activated tools

4. Uses hand tools and special equipment and devices such as wire cutters, insulation strippers, crimpers, hammers, chisels, saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, shears, pop riveter, files, reamers, taps, dies, soldering iron, torches, tube and pipe cutters, picks, shovels, ladders, scaffolding, block, tackle, hoist, sling, come along, lifts

5. Maintain a clean work area and company vehicle.

6. Keep tools and equipment operational, clean, and orderly.

7. Maintain, install, repair, and properly charge heat pumps and up to one hundred (100)-ton air conditioners according to manufacturer specifications

8. Provide HVAC technical support during the commissioning and start-up phases

9. Oversee & monitor HVAC systems for customers and make adjustments and/or quote repairs as necessary

10. Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, modifications and repairs to HVAC commercial equipment.

11. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating units, including boilers, gas and electrically operated air-conditioning equipment, and made necessary adjustments or repairs

12. Determines the means and methods to be used in accomplishing assigned tasks and secures appropriate materials, supplies, and equipment from stock and with authorized approval.

13. Plans and lays out work, making standard shop computations using basic arithmetic, shop manuals, catalogs, tables and charts, and other standard data sources

14. Diagnoses, tests, installs, maintains, and repairs pulleys, sheaves, gears, belts, motors, heating units, blowers, fans, gauges, thermometers, thermostats, pumps, ejectors, circulators, coils, condensers, compressors, duct work, diffusers, deflectors, louvers, grills.

15. Selects, measures, cuts, bends, fits, assembles, splices, joins, solders, couples, fastens, hangs, and installs pipe, tubing, hose, duct work, insulation material, wire

16. Uses hardware supplies and equipment such as hangers, fittings, flanges, connectors, gaskets, couplings, insulation materials, tiles, fasteners, switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, gears, bushings, bearings, coils.

Job Requirements:

Have and maintain EPA certification.

Have and maintain a clean driving record.

Be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Stand, walk, sit or bend while performing Job Duties.

Perform out-of-town work up to 200 miles.

Be flexible on schedule.
