The successful candidate has an ability to work independently, manage/lead other crew members, and troubleshoot all aspects of various projects. The individual is the onsite leader of the job and liaison between site and office. Must be able to implement direction coming from Project Manager and Owner and maintain efficient and constant communication of scope and plans with Project Manager and subcontractors. With a passion for craftsmanship and an eye for detail, you must be knowledgeable and proficient with all phases of construction, have basic knowledge of scheduling, budget, jobsite safety and have an excellent attitude and work ethic to ensure the job flows smoothly. Compensation is competitive and dependent on experience.
Overview:
- Direct and supervise both laborers and subcontractors while on jobsite to ensure high quality & efficiency.
- Subcontractors defer to you as the “go-to guy” on site.
- Constant communication with Project Manager. Inform PM with any on site issues, scheduling delays, etc.
- Plans and specs of the job are understood beforehand.
- Job sites are laid out to ensure each phase flows seamlessly.
- Labor and material needs or changes are clearly communicated with the Project Manager.
- Perform any construction tasks needed to meet deadlines.
- Hours on a project are adequately tracked.
- Future time costs are estimated to a 90% accuracy.
- Project runs on budget & schedule ( and budgets / schedules are adjusted accordingly so we can hit them)
- Laborers, carpenters, and subcontractors are consistently motivated to keep the job on schedule.
- Customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the project.
- Ensure jobsite safety and enforce jobsite rules.
Requirements:
- 3 -10+ years in the construction industry as a carpenter.
- Must utilize smart phone from the field for emailing and text messaging.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans.
- Must be knowledgeable in all trades. Extensive rough and finish carpentry skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to speak professionally with clients & subcontractors.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot various issues.
- Able to run projects with minimal supervision.
