Overview of Duties
o Secures and organizes the metal building by unloading the steel and staging the work
site.
o Safely assembles and erects steel structures, including columns, beams, trusses, and
framework, according to blueprints and project specifications.
Use of Tools
o Operate hand and power tools, hoists, and other construction equipment as required.
o Trims excess sheet metal using power saws, power shears, and tin snips.
Installation of Components of Steel Building Construction
o Picks and connects the steel per blueprints and plans.
o Installs metal siding, roofing, and wall sheeting assembly per plans and drawings.
o Reads blueprints and determines the location of items such as doors, windows,
ventilators, and skylights.
o Installs gutters and downs.
o Installs corner, gable, rake, door, and window trims.
Bolting and Assembly
Perform bolting and assembly to secure steel components, ensuring proper alignment
and structural integrity.
Safety Compliance
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for
yourself and other crew members.
Quality Control
o Inspect completed structures to ensure they meet all quality standards and project
specifications.
o Responsible for performing routine and overall job site clean-up.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with other team members to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
