Manufacturer with small fleet of trucks and heavy equipment is looking for a Truck/Heavy Equipment Mechanic AND a Mechanic Trainee. This is a great opportunity to join a growing and successful group.
Responsibilities and Duties:
▪ Inspect and repair heavy-duty, diesel truck units and trailers
▪ Inspect and repair heavy equipment, forklifts, skid steers, and water trucks
▪ Communicate with drivers, review DVIRs, address issues, and clearly document repairs
▪ Troubleshoot and repair truck and heavy equipment engine control systems, braking systems, heating/cooling/AC systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, ignition systems, lubrication systems, transmission systems, suspension systems, and pneumatic systems
▪ Maintain well-organized written records of work performance for company as well as CHP/DOT inspections
▪ Other duties as assigned
Experience:
▪ For Mechanic: Diesel and gasoline vehicle heavy equipment maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair – 4-years’ journey level experience
▪ For Mechanic Trainee: Mechanical repair experience – 1+ year of experience
General Requirements:
▪ Good problem diagnosis and repair skills
▪ Basic computer skills
▪ Able to pass a drug test
▪ Good writing and record-keeping skills
▪ Must have own tools and toolbox
▪ Clean, valid CA driver’s license
Desired:
▪ Class A Driver’s License
▪ Welding experience
▪ Proficient in both English and Spanish
Physical Requirements
▪ While performing the duties of this job, the Mechanic and Mechanic Trainee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, and crawl under equipment. The Mechanic and Mechanic Trainee are frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The Mechanic and Mechanic Trainee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
