THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ELK GROVE CA.

POSITION SUMMARY

Drive diesel powered one-ton truck to transport and deliver rental equipment with proper securement of equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate a vehicle in accordance with state law.

Pilot oversized loads when required.

Responsible for receiving daily schedule from dispatcher the night before.

Complete delivery logs, delivery sheet and safety inspections daily.

Responsible for loading and unloading plus using the correct tie down techniques.

Must complete pre trip and post trip inspection on truck per I.T. guidelines.

Equipment must be delivered within established time frames

Must handle minor maintenance issues and fueling of trucks

Responsible for having customers sign rental agreements on Damage to equipment must be pointed out to the customer either upon delivery or return and noted in the rental agreement.

Verifies that equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon being taken out or being returned.

Driver should report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety issues to dispatcher or shop foreperson within 24 hours.

Accidents must be reported immediately to the dispatcher. Accident reports are required for each incident and should be handed to the Store Manager.

Checks equipment in or out as needed.

Responsible for red tagging equipment that needs repair.

Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write and complete daily paperwork.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to remain calm in stressful driving sistuations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school or GED; and one to three years’ experience hauling light equipment driving a one-ton truck with 10,000 lb. trailer.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV driving report.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. WORK ENVIRONMENT

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
