Description Robert Half is working with a fast-growing, dynamic team looking for a Financial Analyst who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Located in the Salinas, California, area, this Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity. We are seeking Financial Analyst candidates who are comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. Advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management will also be among the Financial Analyst's duties.Your responsibilities
Present and monitor forecasting reports
Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Operate with key senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Work with contacts in Accounting and Operations to support business plans
Ideal candidate would have an adaptable nature and experience dealing with vast amounts of information while exceeding expectations
Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide decision making support
Uncover the influencing factors that are driving performance and trends
Watch over annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations
Study performance to date and examine potential risks and opportunities
Manage monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting Requirements - Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience a plus)
Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
Deep understanding of GAAP Accounting
Forecasting experience
Command of account analysis
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
